Today I watched my two youngest kids while my wife was out doing a few things. Since it was a pretty nice fall day I asked the kids what they wanted to do and they decided that wanted to take a bike ride. However, when they say bike ride it means that I ride my bike and they sit in the trailer and tell me to go faster.
Texans were hit with a surprise this past week. Close to 60 Billboards around the Lubbock, Texas area have featured a picture of Jesus…with tattoos! Many Texans are outraged at these billboards calling them “blasphemous” and “not appropriate.”
Since we are going to be celebrating Columbus day I figured that I would write a few thoughts about this celebrated explorer. I was taught many think about good ole Chris like: him discovering America; proving that the world is round; and delivering gifts to good kids at Christmas…or was that another guy? Anyhow, I found that many things I believed about Christopher Columbus were wrong. Here is a short list of things that I don’t like about this American hero.
I am generally able to conjure up some advice, and I try to make it Biblical whenever possible, however I have noticed a common thread in the advice that I give. I have found that most of the problems that people face in life is not the other people in our life. It is not your husband, wife, teen or rabid monkey. It is not your past. It is not all of the horrible things that you have been through. They aren’t the problem.
Today is going to be in odd day for me. I was called on Friday and was told that I am required to appear in court this afternoon. This will be my first time serving as a witness on a murder trial, or a witness to anything for that matter.
